Our second day in Dublin brought us to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells and on a walking tour of the old section of the city. Created around 800 A.D. the Book of Kells is an ornately illustrated compilation of the four gospels of the New Testament. The exhibit is predictably small but informative and the book was only open to two pages, of course. We were both surprised by how small the book is (about 10" x 13"), which makes the decorative script and images even more remarkable. Our brief tour ended in the impressive Long Room of the Trinity College Library. The library is only eye candy to be enjoyed at a distance for the stream of tourists, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Wonderful old books - Steven King books cannot be found here |
This place is very traditional |
The famous The Temple Bar- 100% full of 100% tourists. I don't think the Guinness tap has an off position. |
We were not brave enough to venture in the bar to see why it is named Hairy Lemon |
The neighborhoods are plentiful with charming ivy covered brick houses |
